One of the easiest and funnest ways to improve your aim and consequently improve your paintball game is to practice shooting. This typically works best with a buddy but you can do it bu yourself as well.
Most peeps when they practice shooting their paintball gun basically set up a target and then they shoot at it. And that's a great place to start but should only be the beginning of your target practice...
In addition to shooting at a stationary target you'll also want to practice shooting at the target while on one knee, behind targets and while on your belly. Basically any position you could find yourself in on the paintball field you'll probably want to take at least a few practice shots to give yourself an idea of the angle. When you get bored with that it's time to get off you butt.
Something you should definitely practice is shooting at a target while running. Something else you'll want to consider is shooting at a target while avoiding getting hit yourself which usually involves some type of lateral or side to side movement. Practice all of these things and you'll have a better idea of how your paintball gun will perform on the paintball field.
Now this is where your buddy come into play... The one thing most peeps get very little practice with is shooting at a moving target. It's great practice shooting at a moving target and if you can convince a buddy, you guys can take turns shooting at each other.
If your buddy is up to it you may even want to have some one-on-one matches from a distance as this is the best practice you can get... set up some obstacles and practice shooting at each other! I used to have these one-on-one matches with a buddy back in the day in the back yard with our used paintball guns and we would determine the winner by whoever had the least amount of paint on him at the end of the match.
It's not always practical to get out to the paintball field and in those times you can still improve your paintball game by taking some target practice and adding a few twists and variations.
